West Coast Digital Ventures LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates Protocol Coach, a platform that enables health coaches to track client compliance, monitor wellness data, and guide meaningful progress. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
By using Protocol Coach, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the service.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and role (coach or client).
Wearable Device Data
When you connect a wearable device to Protocol Coach, we access wellness data from that device. The specific data collected depends on the device connected. Your data is submitted to Protocol Coach, not to the device manufacturer. Currently, we support the following integrations:
Oura Ring
When you connect your Oura Ring account, we access the following categories of wellness data:

Garmin Connect
When you connect your Garmin Connect account, we access the following categories of wellness data:

Important: We do NOT collect geographic location data from any wearable device or any other source. Protocol Coach does not track, store, or process any location information.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Coach Access: Sharing your wellness metrics with your assigned health coach to monitor protocol compliance and provide guidance
- Trend Analysis: Displaying historical trends and patterns to help your coach make informed recommendations
- Service Functionality: Powering the core features of Protocol Coach that enable coach-client wellness monitoring
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the health coaching service you signed up for.
Data Sharing
Who We Share Data With
- Your Assigned Health Coach: Your wellness data is shared with the coach you have been assigned to or have selected within Protocol Coach
We do not share your data with any third-party service providers.
What We Never Do
We will never sell, market, or license your wellness data or any personal health information to third parties. Your wellness data is not a product—it is entrusted to us solely to facilitate your health coaching relationship.
Third-Party Data Collection Disclosures
Oura Ring
In accordance with the Oura API Agreement, we disclose that Oura may collect certain use data and information about your use of this integration for any business purpose, internal or external. This data collection by Oura is subject to Oura's own Privacy Policy, which you can review at ouraring.com/privacy-policy.
Garmin Connect
When you connect your Garmin account, your data is transferred from Garmin to Protocol Coach. This data is submitted to us, not to Garmin, and Garmin has no responsibility or liability for data once transferred to our service. Garmin's collection and use of your data is governed by the Garmin Connect Privacy Policy.
Data Retention & Deletion
Retention Periods
- Wearable device data is cached for a maximum of 60 days
- Account information is retained for the duration of your active subscription
- Upon account termination, all personal data is deleted within 30 days
Deletion Upon Request
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at contact@westcoastdigitalventures.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Immediate Deletion on Access Revocation: If you revoke Protocol Coach's access to a connected device through your account settings (e.g., Oura Cloud or Garmin Connect), we will immediately delete all data from that device associated with your account. This deletion is automatic and does not require a separate request.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
- Revocation: Disconnect your wearable device account at any time through your device's account settings (Oura Cloud or Garmin Connect)
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
